So, it’s a bright sunny morning, I wake up.. my normal cheerful self. Last day of the year.. big plans for the day.. lots of eating and lots of sleeping!!
But my dreams are shattered as my mom entrusts me with the daunting task of making Rajmahs (yeah baby.. I can do that). ok.. so there are a few ground rules that need to be followed if I’m cooking.
1 the music should be so loud that I cannot hear my mom’s voice (read: nagging) while I’m cooking
2 no one.. and I mean NO ONE should enter the kitchen while I’m cooking (read on n u’ll know why)
My ipod in my ears and I’m all set. For the benefit of the readers and my own reputation I would not like to disclose the song that I was listening to but let’s just say it was one of the crazy upbeat hip hop numbers. Spectators could see tomatoes juggling through the air, (in fact I think I heard a applause after that act :P) next came the onions and the process went on. The loud music was well complimented by my dance(precisely the reason I need the whole kitchen to myself). Seriously, with knives as my props I would like to believe the dance would have put the likes of Saroj n Farah Khan to shame. :P
Next came the mixing, all the chopped vegetables went into the mixer n with a swooping movement the plug went into the switch and with another swirl I switched on the mixer.
DARKNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only sound that could be heard was from my ipod (God bless Apple!!)
The fuse went off, luckily it was not the case with my father, who patiently set things right.
But the mixi never worked again.
May its soul rest in peace.

For all of you who are wondering what happened to the Rajmahs.. well, we have a backup mixer so I continued my performance and it was quite a success!! :)
